Matt Cutts posts a Q & A on the new data center used by Google called BigDaddy. This is new infrastructure and is not an update or refresh. It will be the default source of web results which fixes the canonicalization issues. Canonicalization is the process used to pick the best url (in most cases the home page) when there are several alternatives such as www.example.com, example.com, www.example.com/index.html, and example.com/home.asp which are technically different.
It is live at 66.249.93.104 or 64.233.179.104 but it is expected to be live at all the data centers in another month or two.
