As a webmaster, one of the major aspects of web publishing that bring spiders back to visit a site is fresh, dynamic, regularly updated content. For some webmasters, this can be a challenge, some consider it a chore.
Now there’s an easy alternative…
Big G released it’s Google Related service.
Google Related Links use the power of Google to automatically bring fresh, dynamic and interesting content links to any website. Webmasters can place these units on their site to provide visitors with links to useful information related to the site’s content, including relevant news, searches, and pages.
In four easy steps, you can place content that adds value to your visitors. Those who have Adsense accounts will be familiar with the various ad formats. Depending on your site, you can choose to display one or two of the following link types: Searches, News, or Web Pages. You also have the flexibility to determine the color of the palette.
Here’s a sample of what it looks like:
One word of caution though: While this is a great service, it may not be for everyone. That’s because the links may be those of your competitors or direct your traffic elsewhere. If you are afraid that visitors will click on the links provided by G taking them away from your site, you may not want to place this content on your site. It all depends on the site you have. For example, sales letter type websites wouldn’t be good candidates as the primary purpose is to sell a product described on the page and the fewer distractions from the message the better. In a large portal type website, it could be a great addition to your site as it gives visitors other alternatives which they may not have considered.
